As a man who has been half human, half guitarist, and half centaur all at once, Tom McCaffrey has actually raised Satan from the dead with nothing but his pure unadulterated guitar shred (and he was pissed!). As a first call guitarist for the exclusive School of Rock All-Stars, he has performed in no less than six East Coast tours, playing venues from Miami to Chicago to Boston, and backing up several major artists including Gloria Gaynor, John Wetton of King Crimson and Asia, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Mike Peters of The Alarm, Joe Lynn Turner of Deep Purple and Rainbow, KT Tunstall, and the late great Robert Hazard. He’s also appeared with the All-Stars at several notable festivals and venues, including Lollapalooza in Chicago, Gathering of the Vibes in Connecticut, and Red Rocks in Colorado, and performed for the United Nations Millennium Goals Awards Ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. He has also performed in television appearances on the CBS Early Show and on CW and Fox News.

Last year Tom recorded an album of original material with drummer Liberty DiVitto (formerly of Billy Joel), and bassist Chuck Treece (of McRad and Bad Brains, featured in the film American Hardcore). Tom is now a full time musician and performer in NYC, a teacher at the School of Rock Manhattan branch, and a student at the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the New School. He currently fronts Infant Elephant, a power trio so relentless and ballsy that they’ve been regarded as equivalent to ripping your testicles off and playing them on a record player.
